Friday Favorites: The Getty

For years we have been trying to take a family day trip up to The Getty Museum and have always canceled our plans for one reason or another. So this year I was determined to make this trip happen. My Dad loves art and all the lore that comes with historical landmarks like the Getty. For Fathers Day we packed up some picnic provisions and headed to LA to explore.

As you can see we have a big family on my Dad’s side and the times we can all get together are usually few and far between, but now that my brother Dustin is home from the Army hopefully it will happen more often.  The grounds of the Getty were soo beautiful from the moment you enter the tram area you can see the efforts made to make the museum shine.

There were tons of unique flowers scattered throughout the gardens.

The architecture is just as captivating as the gardens.

The museum itself is packed full of treasures, not the most interested stuff for kids but SUPER neat for adults.

After touring we went and had a picnic on the grounds.

It was a great day spent with the family and definitely the highlight of my week.
