This past weekend I helped with my co-worker Kaitlyn’s baby shower. I was on the “decorations committee” as decreed by Kaitlyn’s super organized Mom, Sharon. Sharon wanted to surprise Kaitlyn with the decor and theme so I came up with a few inspiration boards and we ultimately went with this Navy, Baby Blue, and Kelly Green theme:
There was a lot of hunting on Etsy and other party sites to find all the elements. I worked on creating the graphics (which you can see I used in the inspiration board above as well). Click the links if you want to print and use these for yourself.
*Note: For some reason when I converted the pdf’s to jpeg the color distorted and got really bright. The original pdf’s linked below have the correct color.
We used some ribbon, clothes pins and paper cut out onsies to leave words of wisdom for the Mom to Be.
I love what we did on the mantle it turned out super cute. You can see the cute flag bunting, the paper chain garland, and one of our “Oh Boy” signs but what you may have a harder time noticing is that we took blown up pictures of Kaitlyn and her husband as babies and framed them on either side of her latest ultrasound picture.
Here is a shot of the cake table with the adorable teddy bear cake that Kaitlyn’s Mom made for her. I crafted the “Baby Nash” sign using some Martha Stewart glitters and some Elmers Glue. There was also a diaper cake added to this table that was late on arrival so it did not make it in to the first shot, but here is what it looked like:
There was over 40 people at this shower so there were tables set up all over but here is a shot of the main “big” table in the dining room.
We got this great polka dot fabric that we used as place mats and then used a blue paper napkin tied with baby blue ricrac ribbon at each setting.
These balloons were my personal favorite of all the decorations. They added just the right amount of whimsy to this party. The balloons were purchased online and I added tissue paper fringe to each of them. I will show you how to do this in a separate post. You can see the true color of the signage better in this picture. We posted these all around the house with a variety of different grean, navy, and baby blue ribbons. In fact, we used these ribbons to accent things all over the house, as seen below:
We hung also variety of paper balls around the party.
Shout out to my BFF Brittany for hand drawing one of these “Guest Book Trees” for the shower. These suckers can run you a pretty penny on Etsy so find an artistic friend or neighbor and ask for a favor.
Stay tuned for Part 2 where I show the food, Mimosa Bar, Gifts and more candid shots of the shower.
