I have been plotting for months and months in preparation for the New Years Eve Bachelor / Bachelorette party I am throwing my best friend Misha and her fiance Renny. As proof, my pinterest file for this event has gotten a little out of control with 178 pins!! I sent out a Save the Date using Paperless Post almost 2 months ago and it is almost time to send out the REAL invitations. It is kind of a big deal to ask people to give you their New Years, buy tickets, and dress up (the party is themed “Old Hollywood Glam”) so I wanted to make the invitations something really special. They had to scream, “THIS IS A PARTY YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS!” So I came up with this:
A shiny black box will arrive in the mail with a small disco ball and red tag that instructs them to go to a website. The website contains all the need to know information for the event (what to wear, how to buy tickets, directions, hotel info, etc.). Here is a screenshot of what the site looks like:
The site was built using wordpress.com because it is FREE (duh) and I ordered the black boxes from this site and the I got the 2″ disco balls from this site. I bought the gold filler at Michael’s and made the tags my self on red scrapbook paper that I ran through the printer. The labels for the boxes were made to look like this:
I used a font called “Channel” that I thought gave it a fancy yet kind of vintage feel. The best part of these invites is how inexpensive they are to ship, just $1.71 each! I will be using a dot of hot glue to give the lids on these boxes just a little more hold and then I will place a stamp right on to the boxes and pop them in the mail (I ran this by the post office and they said I would be just fine). I am so excited for people to receive their invites and even more pumped to move to phase two of this party planning process…THE DECORATIONS!!
