Great Meals to Bring New Parents

Babies, babies, babies! They’re everywhere!

So many of our friends are pregnant, just had their first, or are on their second that we have been visiting babies and friends with growing families pretty consistently.

The latest is baby Gracelyn Mae who we visited on Monday.

I always try and bring food to the nesting family, so I thought I would share a few of my favorite “doorstep drop-off” meals for new parents.

1. Sausages and Scalloped Potatoes with Salad – This is a great drop-off meal because the  sausages can be microwaved through the week for a quick lunch or dinner and the potatoes are MAJOR comfort food. I made this for Gracelyn’s parents on Monday.

2. Pizza Balls!  These are so fun and easy, plus you just pop them in the oven for about 15 minutes to warm them up and they taste freshly baked.

3. Pasta Bake – This is a standard casserole type dish that is commonplace for this kind of thing but equally awesome.  A friend of mine recently did a cheese sauce with broccoli and shredded rotisserie chicken. Yum!

4. Breakfast Casserole – Last but not least! Everyone seems to forget that new parents need help with other meals besides dinner especially after a sleep deprived night.  I recommend a egg muffins or a Chili Puff.
