So we went to Family Winemakers of CA at the Del Mar Racetrack to attempt to try all of our favorite wines being featured. Anyone who has been to this event knows it is next to impossible to do this if you intend on walking out of the event. As we were strolling the endless rows of established, and up-and-coming wineries, Jon spotted his idol GARY PISONI. His cheeks went flush and he started to fidget as we made our way over to where he was pouring. We waited in line and asked him if Jon could have a photo with him, as he is kind of a celebrity in our house. The best part of the whole thing was later on, when we were in the cattle herd, Gary passed us and tapped Jon on the back and gave him a big smile, like they were old friends…Jon just about died.
